SCP-211
rating: +1+x

Item #: SCP-211

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-211 is currently housed in a 4.5 m x 4.5 m x 3.0 m (15 ft x 15 ft x 10 ft) room, containing a hospital bed, life support system, and a full closet of medical supplies. SCP-211 must be kept in a room with lead walls, at least 10 cm (4 in) thick. The medical supply cabinet must be locked at all times, with a system requiring two keys to open, turned simultaneously.

Only D-class personnel are permitted inside the room containing SCP-211. No single person may enter the containment room at any given time. Individuals entering the room must exit immediately if the lighting begins to flicker or fail, if any voice is heard that does not belong to other personnel present, or if any other abnormal phenomena are encountered. To date, this is largely a precautionary measure. Personnel attending to SCP-211 are to keep contact limited to under 35 minutes in any 24-hour period. If any personnel are exposed for longer than this, they must be isolated and subjected to a full series of psychological evaluations.

Description: SCP-211 appears to be a young African-American male, approx. 175 cm (5'9") tall and 88 kg (194 lb). When he was first discovered, he was wearing a sweatsuit and faded Newbalance sneakers; these have been confirmed as fully mundane and have been disposed of. SCP-211 is evidently comatose. Despite being bedridden for [DATA EXPUNGED], SCP-211 has never developed bed sores, and has not seen any visible deterioration of muscle mass.

When hooked to [DATA EXPUNGED] SCP-211 showed readings consistent with a baseline human in REM sleep. Despite this, SCP-211's eyes have never been observed to move in the slightest, and all attempts to wake him have failed. Personnel in contact with SCP-211 for long periods of time have reported entering vivid hallucinations, or waking dreams. In rare circumstances, these hallucinations have had long term effects on the mental health of personnel, and as such contact with SCP-211 is currently limited.

04/22/████: Dr. █████ ████████ was in contact with SCP-211 for approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes while running a series of CAT scans. At ████ hours she was seen in the hallway outside of Examination Center ██ staring at a wall. When confronted, she became violent, lashing out at a guard and locking herself in the examination room. When [DATA EXPUNGED] and personnel were finally able to enter the room, Dr. ████████ was found to be unconscious, having administered herself an overdose of hydrocodone and ███████. She was taken to intensive care, where she was put through detox and made a full recovery.

During questioning afterward, Dr. ████████ claimed that the whole world seemed to be "mutating" around her, melting and shifting and reforming, and that her mind could not handle the altered input. She claims that in her hallucination, the injection made sense, and that she believed it would "treat her sickness", allowing the world to return to normal.

During this period, two guards were placed around SCP-211. After [DATA EXPUNGED], they were found lying on their backs near the bed. █████ ███, one of the guards, was humming softly to himself. (Note: Have reviewed the security tapes completely, and while badly off-key, it seems he was humming the entirety of the Moody Blues album "Days of Future Past".) He was unresponsive until removed from SCP-211's presence, whereupon he regained his senses, claiming that he had undergone a powerful acid flashback.

████ ████████████, the other guard, was simply unresponsive. He could not comment on his hallucinations when brought out of the catatonic state, claiming to the interviewer that "they're right behind you". It was quickly determined that ████████████ was still hallucinating and was isolated until he improved. ████████████ is still working with us, although his security clearance has been reduced to ███ and he has developed a mild case of schizophrenia. He is currently being treated with ██████████, which has been entirely effective.

Since the improved isolation measures have been put into place, no further incidents have occurred. During a power failure on ████, three personnel were locked in the room with SCP-211 for almost a full hour. When recovered, they were found to be in perfect mental and physical health
