Item #: SCP-557

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-557 should not be removed from its capsule. It should not be handled without gloves laced with nonmetallic protective material, such as the material obtained from ██████. All agents must keep a copy of a Hindu or Buddhist esoteric scripture on hand when in the immediate presence of SCP-577. When not in use, SCP-557 must be returned to its vault.

Description: SCP-557, otherwise known as the Vajra Fold, is a fist-sized sphere of what appears to be pure diamond found in ████, Tibet, floating in four hundred cubic centimeters (400cm3) of an unknown translucent liquid metal. Upon contact with SCP-557, any object made of an inert metal such as gold, silver, or iron slowly becomes translucent, incredibly strong, and alternately attracts and repels organic matter. In addition, compounds such as metal oxides and chlorides slowly separate into their component elements when in the presence of SCP-557 while it is unsealed. SCP-557 conducts electricity, as does its liquid metal "containment shield", as it is referred to. Its acquired its name from Agent Viswanath, the devoutly Hindu field agent who discovered it and named it in reference to the Bhagavad-Gita.
